I was referred to Dr. Yakel at Premier Spine and what a fantastic doctor he has been. His entire office was so patient, kind and caring. Dr. Yakel and Sarah spent extra time with me going over the MRI, detailing my options, with a no pressure approach. Honestly, I was scared to hear that I needed a “ back surgery “ but had such peace about it after their reassurance and treatment plan was thoroughly explained. Dr.Yakel and his team are absolutely amazing. They are all very kind and helpful and go above and beyond to make sure you are very comfortable and understanding the patient care they are providing for you. My husband was referred to Dr. Yakel after going to the pain clinic in Sandpoint and having 2 injections. While the injection help a little he was still in pain everyday and couldn’t make it through the day without medication. My husband has always feared having any surgery on his back because of all the horrible stories he had heard about back surgeries. But after seeing Dr. Yakel for the initial visit he felt comfortable with going ahead with the procedure. Praise God he did because he woke up from that surgery pain free. Dr. Yakel and NP Sarah Frank are the most professional and understanding people I have ever met.  They're compassion and understanding made my husband Dennis's whole procedure (almost enjoyable), his words.  😅  It is obvious that they love their job and always make sure you understand what is being done. WOW!!  I don’t even have words to describe how wonderful this group is!  I’ve never experienced the kind of personal care & compassion at a Drs. office this group has for their patients. Both Dr Yakal & his PA Sarah are so kind & so thorough in determining what the next step should be. I feel very confident that when this is over I’ll be ‘good as new’!! I had an awful time with another doctor trying to get a surgery scheduled. The referral process was taking forever, and it took them weeks just to get the MRI requested and approved. By the time I met Dr. Yankel, I had been waiting 5 weeks for surgery. He and his team moved quickly and expedited the whole process - from the day I met them to scheduling surgery in under two weeks. Dr. Yakel recently performed neck surgery (discectomy/fusion) on my husband. The procedure went beautifully, and so has recovery. Neck pain, neuropathy, and more symptoms are gone. Best doctor I’ve ever had. Very smart but talks to you like a human. My Back has been in pain for more than 30 years however no other surgeon gave me the confidence to get it done.
